Partnerships Manager

This is a remote position and we welcome applicants from across Canada.

We strive to make healthcare better for all by making it easier for digital health innovators to succeed.

Who we are

MedStack is on a mission to transform the process of healthcare innovation. Our company is an award-winning startup backed by prominent VCs and is a successful graduate of 500 Startups, and the Creative Destruction Lab. We've been named a TechCrunch Disrupt Top Pick for Cybersecurity, one of Canada's Top 20 early-stage technology companies by CIX, and one of the Top 50 digital health disruptors in Canada by PwC and CB Insights.

Our business is a subscription-based platform, but we are also an ecosystem, a community that champions startups and entrepreneurship. We embrace automation, collaboration, startup empowerment, and creative problem-solving. Our customers work with us and with each other to tackle the world's biggest problem: making healthcare more efficient, accessible, economical and effective, at a time when the world needs it more than ever before.

Privacy and security are among the most significant and complex requirements that companies looking to build digital health applications must navigate. The strict requirements that hospitals, insurance companies, public health, clinic networks, and patient populations (all their potential clients) must adhere to create overwhelming but important requirements that can delay the healthtech industry from truly taking off and making a positive revolutionizing change. At MedStack, we set out to solve this seemingly impossible situation. Over core offering is MedStack Control, a turnkey compliance solution designed to help healthcare innovators scale their applications quickly and earn the trust of healthcare enterprises, thanks to MedStack's out-of-the-box, proven privacy and security compliance guarantees.

Who we need

To support our product proposition, we’re now expanding a strategy built on channels and partnerships. Reporting to our co-founder and CEO, we are looking for a Partnerships Manager to accelerate our business and expand our visibility in the market. You will be a trusted advisor, a relationship builder, and a cultivator of ideas as you identify, create, and pitch the power and benefit of corporate partnerships. From cold prospects and warm leads to existing partners and strategic vendors, you will seek out areas where our value proposition can be expanded or built upon, adapting to the ever-changing needs and expectations of our clients.

What's in it for you

Potential. This is a chance to create the partnership function at a startup with a product in the market that meets customer demand. Digital health is a growing ecosystem and we are disrupting the status quo by facilitating access and compliance to our community of companies. With healthcare enterprises and technology and service providers looking to collaborate in this emerging realm, there is an opportunity here to build, curate and measure the ROI of channel, co-sell and vendor relationships, capitalize on interest, and roll out partnerships.

Autonomy. You will become a domain expert in the platform we've built and the role it plays in our ecosystem. This is an opportunity to define your role and your impact as you work to identify high-potential partners that add increased value to our customers across all aspects of our delivery, and formulate a repeatable process to manage them as a portfolio. You want to create something new, work close to the product, and make a name for yourself as an expert partner manager.

Impact. With a passion for fostering strategic partnerships and the mindset of an entrepreneur, you want to take ownership of a key opportunity in growing a company from startup to scaleup. But not just any company; you want to be part of a place building technology that matters. This is an opportunity to support our success and that of the digital health companies that integrate our platform. You want to be part of a company that focuses on people development, innovation, and collaboration.

How you will make a difference:

  • Actively seek out new opportunities with strategic partners. You will identify new market opportunities as well as high-potential and developing channel, co-sell, resell and integration partners. This might include, for example, community economic development organizations, incubators and accelerators that might bring us customer opportunities, or service providers and other technology partners that supplement our offering for the success of customers, or even the first set of enterprises to bring ecosystem sales channels to our customers. You will:
    • Pitch our platform and its benefits to prospective partners via live demos and presentations.
    • Negotiate and close complex short and long-term contracts with partner companies.
    • Determine the operational strategy for pursuing, closing, and managing partnerships including risk and benefit analysis and financial planning.
  • Analyze the potential risks and rewards. You will develop a deep understanding of the landscape and process in which digital health is devised, built, sold and scaled. You will build detailed business and financial models to quantify the impact of bringing a new partner into our ecosystem. You will collaborate with all internal teams to deliver the best solution based on the partner and company needs.
  • Take a diplomatic approach. You will manage strategic relationships using business insights, negotiation, authenticity, and strong project management skills. You will scale, nurture, and optimize partnerships beyond launch, identifying mutually beneficial opportunities to grow the partnerships’ value. You will maintain consultative business relationships to gain exposure to their business initiatives to impact growth and ensure mutually beneficial partnerships positively.

What you bring:

  • The experience. You have extensive business development and account management experience with a proven track record of success sourcing leads and closing deals in the technology realm. You have the expertise to insightfully analyze needs and position our company and technology as profitable and mutually beneficial.
  • The strategic and interpersonal skills. You are logical and analytical with business acumen and financial planning skills. You can speak the language of senior technical buyers without needing to bring in a technical resource early in the partnership building process.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have exceptional communication skills and you can build trusting relationships. You are creative, engaging, and persuasive.

Why we think you'd like it here

MedStack is a remote-first company. And while that may not be a distinction now, it's the way we have always operated. This translates to having the processes, technology, and understanding in place to nurture a collaborative remote work environment with an exceptional work-life balance.

We meet (virtually) as a team at the end of every week to celebrate our wins, acknowledge milestones, showcase what we've each accomplished, tackle challenges, and learn from each other.

Diversity and inclusion are not mere words on paper to us. We have stringent guidelines and bold objectives.

We offer competitive compensation, generous benefits and vacation packages, and the choice to partake in the company's employee stock option plan. There is no better time to come into an early-stage award-winning company with a strong brand that is redefining an industry.

Join us.

We are a company with a developer, entrepreneur and innovator mindset and extremely high specificity, accuracy, and quality standards. Our core product is digital security infrastructure. Everything from our team processes to our brand reflects a culture of facts-first, entrepreneurship vs. the status quo, celebrating our customers' success before ours, and collaboration and openness.

If you have 70% of the qualifications we are looking for, share our way of thinking and want to play an integral role in impacting health tech and health care, apply to express your interest.

MedStack welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
